The people behind the standard

Meet the Founders

Drop Zone Grooming Company is a veteran-owned, family-built company with a clear mission: create grooming products that carry the same discipline, purpose, and pride we expect from ourselves.

Everybody has a Drop Zone.

It might be a boardroom. A jobsite. The gym. A first date. School drop-off. A sales meeting. Or simply walking through your own front door after a long day.

Your Drop Zone is wherever life is asking you to show up.

And I believe how you show up matters.

That’s why we built Drop Zone—not because the world needed another beard oil, but because men deserve grooming products that make it easier to look sharp, smell put together, and walk into whatever comes next with confidence.

Whatever your Drop Zone is today, hit it ready.

That’s a mindset I learned long before starting a grooming company.

I spent more than a decade on active duty in the U.S. Army. I began as an enlisted Military Police Soldier, earned my commission through Officer Candidate School, became a Field Artillery officer, and eventually had the privilege of commanding Soldiers.

I deployed four times in support of operations in Iraq and Kuwait. My service was recognized with two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, the Combat Action Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device for Valor.

I’m proud of that service. But I don’t expect anyone to buy from us simply because I’m a veteran.

We have to earn your business.

What I brought home from the Army wasn’t a marketing story. It was a standard:

Your word means something.

Take care of your people.

Do the job right when nobody is watching.

Prepare before it’s time to perform.

And when the light turns green, be ready to go.

That’s how we approach Drop Zone.

The company began because I was tired of spending money on grooming products that looked great online, made big promises, and turned out to be completely forgettable. Finding a beard product that performed well was hard enough. Finding one that also smelled great—and worked with the rest of what I wore—was even harder.

I believed we could make something better.

So we developed grooming products with cologne-inspired scents designed to work together, taking the guesswork out of smelling put together. No complicated routine. No searching for combinations that don’t clash. Just dependable products made for men who take pride in how they show up.

Along the way, Drop Zone became about more than what was inside the bottle.

It became about taking a few minutes to get squared away. Taking pride in how you look. Getting your head right. Holding yourself to a standard. And walking into whatever comes next ready for it.

Today, I build Drop Zone alongside Christina. Our family is attached to this company. Our reputation is attached to it. Our names are attached to it.

So before anything earns the Drop Zone name, I ask:

Would I use it?

Would I give it to someone I care about?

Would I put my name behind it?

If the answer isn’t yes, it doesn’t belong here.

Because ultimately, we’re not asking you to buy into a beard oil.

We’re asking you to buy into an idea:

You don’t control every Drop Zone life puts in front of you.

You do control how you arrive.

Everybody has a Drop Zone. Wherever yours is, hit it ready.

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer | Registered Nurse

Christina Burr

Everybody has a Drop Zone.

And while how you show up matters, so does how you treat the people you meet when you get there.

That belief has guided me throughout my career.

As a Registered Nurse, I’ve spent years caring for patients and families during moments when compassion, trust, and attention to detail matter most. Nursing taught me that people remember more than what you do for them. They remember whether you listened. Whether you kept your word. Whether you treated them with dignity. And whether they could depend on you when it mattered.

Those lessons don’t stay at the clinic when my shift ends.

They shape how I lead, how I care for my family, and how we’re building Drop Zone Grooming Company.

A.J. and I may have come to this company from different professional backgrounds, but we share the same conviction: if you put your name on something, it should mean something.

That applies to the products we make, the promises we make, and the way we treat the people who choose to do business with us.

As CEO, I help make sure Drop Zone never loses sight of the person on the other side of the order.

Every customer should feel valued.

Every product should reflect our commitment to quality.

Every concern should be handled with honesty and respect.

And every experience with our company should give you a reason to trust us again.

Because exceptional service isn’t an extra feature.

It’s part of the product.

Drop Zone is a grooming company, but it is also something deeply personal to me. We are building it together as husband and wife, as parents, and as two people who want to create something meaningful and lasting for our family.

Our family is attached to this company. Our reputation is attached to it. Our names are attached to it.

That responsibility influences every decision we make.

As an African American woman and entrepreneur, I’m also proud that Drop Zone reflects the strength that comes from different experiences and perspectives. Our company is both veteran-owned and minority-owned—not as marketing labels, but as meaningful parts of who we are and what we bring to the business.

I want what we build to represent opportunity, inclusion, and the belief that quality products and exceptional service should be created for people from every walk of life.

Before something carries the Drop Zone name, I ask:

Does it reflect the quality we promised?

Does it serve the customer well?

Would we be proud to put it in the hands of someone we care about?

If the answer isn’t yes, then we still have work to do.

Because we aren’t interested in making a quick sale and moving on.

We want to earn your confidence.

We want you to know that real people stand behind what you purchased.

And we want to build a company you can depend on—one order, one interaction, and one kept promise at a time.

A.J. often says that you don’t control every Drop Zone life puts in front of you, but you do control how you arrive.

I believe you also control how you treat people once you get there.

Everybody has a Drop Zone. Wherever yours is, show up ready—and take care of your people.
